the energy of a discrete-time signal x(t) is defined as
Energy in this context is not, strictly speaking, the same as the conventional notion of energy in physics and the other sciences. The two concepts are, however, closely related, and it is possible to convert from one to the other:
For example, if x(t) represents the potential (in volts) of an electrical signal propagating across a transmission line, then Z would represent the characteristic impedance (in ohms) of the transmission line. The units of measure for the signal energy would appear as volt2·seconds, which is not dimensionally correct for energy in the sense of the physical sciences. After dividing
by Z, however, the dimensions of E would become volt2·seconds per ohm, which is equivalent to joules, the SI unit for energy as defined in the physical sciences.
"Energy" is the second single by Canadian rapper Drake from his fourth commercial release If You're Reading This It's Too Late.
"Energy" contains samples from Eazy-Duz-It performed by Eazy-E and Ridin Spiners performed by Three 6 Mafia. Energy was produced by Boi-1da and OB O'Brien. According to WhoSampled the song samples the score of an episode of The O.C..
"Energy" received acclaim from music critics with many calling it the best song of the album. Ryan Dombal of Pitchfork gave the song a positive review and named it "Best New Track", stating "The song isn't aimed to any rappers or pop stars, not Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean or Tyga, but the song lines are dangerous."
The video of "Energy" was released on Apple Music and users with iTunes and registered Apple Music account can watch this video.
"Energy" is a song performed by American singer Melissa Manchester, from her 1985 album Mathematics.
The song was arranged by veteran songwriter Greg Mathieson and was released as the second single from the album, following the underperformance of the lead single "Mathematics", MCA hoped to reverse the album's fortune by releasing this Hi-NRG track with an aim for the club market.
Melissa Manchester filmed a videoclip to promote the song, which sees the singer and her band in a sort of industrial-setting stage performing the song.
The single was released on 7" and 12" formats featuring remixes, but it failed to chart either on the Billboard Hot 100 or the dance charts, and failed to chart elsewhere. The b-side to the single was a non-album song, called "So Full Of Yourself", which was co-written by Manchester and Tom Snow and used as the b-side to all 3 singles off the album.
East Syriac: Mar or West Syriac: Mor (as pronounced respectively in eastern and western dialects, from Syriac: ܡܪܝ, Mār(y), written with a silent final yodh) is a title of respect in Syriac, literally meaning 'my lord'. It is given to all saints and is also used before Christian name of bishops. The corresponding feminine form given to women saints is Mart or Mort (Syriac: ܡܪܬܝ, Mārt(y)). The title is placed before the Christian name, as in Mar Aprem/Mor Afrem and Mart/Mort Maryam. This is the original meaning of the name Martha 'A Lady'.
The variant Maran or Moran (Syriac: ܡܪܢ, Māran), meaning 'Our Lord', is a particular title given to Jesus, either alone or in combination with other names and titles. Likewise, Martan or Mortan (Syriac: ܡܪܬܢ, Mārtan, 'Our Lady') is a title of Mary.
Occasionally, the term Maran or Moran has been used of various patriarchs and catholicoi. The Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch, the Malankara Orthodox Catholicos and the Syro-Malankara Major Archbishop Catholicos use the title Moran Mor. Sometimes the Indian bearers of this title are called Moran Mar, using a hybrid style from both Syriac dialects that reflects somewhat the history of Syrian Christians in Kerala. The Pope of Rome is referred to as Mar Papa by the Nasranis (Saint Thomas Christians) of India.
The Gospel According to Mark (Greek: τὸ κατὰ Μᾶρκον εὐαγγέλιον, to kata Markon euangelion), the second book of the New Testament, is one of the four canonical gospels and the three synoptic gospels. It was traditionally thought to be an epitome (summary) of Matthew, which accounts for its place as the second gospel in the Bible, but most scholars now regard it as the earliest of the gospels. Most modern scholars reject the tradition which ascribes it to Mark the Evangelist, the companion of Peter, and regard it as the work of an unknown author working with various sources including collections of miracle stories, controversy stories, parables, and a passion narrative.
Mark tells of the ministry of Jesus from his baptism by John the Baptist to his death and burial and the discovery of the empty tomb – there is no genealogy or birth narrative, nor, in the original ending at chapter 16, any post-resurrection appearances. It portrays Jesus as a heroic man of action, an exorcist, healer and miracle worker. Jesus is also the Son of God, but he keeps his identity secret, concealing it in parables so that even the disciples fail to understand. All this is in keeping with prophecy, which foretold the fate of the messiah as Suffering Servant. The gospel ends, in its original version, with the discovery of the empty tomb, a promise to meet again in Galilee, and an unheeded instruction to spread the good news of the resurrection.
Mar is a sailing tour boat based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia and known for its literary and film associations. Mar was built starting in 1957 and launched in 1959 at Frederikssund Boatbulding in Frederikssund, Denmark. She was built for author Ernest K. Gann, author of several works including "Song of the Sirens", "Twilight of the Gods" and "The High and the Mighty". She was then bought by Charles Tobias owner of Pusser's Rum Company and he used her in the filming of the 1976 film The Way of the Wind. The Mar was then purchased by Mar II Sailing Tours Ltd. based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1982 and she has been sailing there ever since, with the exception of some seven day sailing excursions around the Caribbean in the 1980s. The Mar has not only sailed to the Caribbean, she has sailed extensively around the tropics and also to the Arctic.
